Episode Guide: 211

After destroying three of their fighter ships, Andromeda is hailed by the Sabra-Jaguar Pride. Elsbett Bolivar breezes onboard and declares that Captain Dylan Hunt and the crew of the Andromeda are bound by the Mutual Defense Pact to ally with her in a war against the Dragans. The war has already begun, and because of the Defense Pact, Dylan is now the Supreme Commander of their combined forces.

Meanwhile, a transmission from Earth is picked up and relayed to Harper. His cousin, Brendan Lahey, tells him that the people of Earth are ready to revolt against the Neitzscheans who have enslaved them, and want to be part of the New Commonwealth. Dylan sends Harper and Rommie to Earth to start the revolution. Dylan and the rest of the crew must focus on defeating the Dragan fleet first, but he promises to attack the Neitzscheans on Earth once their armored units have been drawn into the streets by the Resistance.

As Harper and Rommie approach Earth, the devastation is obvious. Once in Boston, they seek out Harper’s cousin, Brendan. Brendan tells them the Resistance is ready to rise up and attack the Dragans with Dylan and Andromeda’s help. Harper gathers the citizens of Boston and delivers a motivational speech, inspiring the masses to take part in the revolution. Rommie and Harper hand out weapons to the fighters and prepare them for battle. The attack signal is given, and the revolution begins.

Back on Andromeda, Dylan and Beka are suspicious of how easily they are defeating the Dragans and decide to stand down. They discover that the ships are not real, and Dylan thinks they are being used as a distraction. Suddenly, the phony Dragan ships begin firing their Slipstream cores, which explode and create a whirlpool. The Andromeda is sucked into the outer system and subsequently attacked by the real Dragan ships. The time has come when the crew of Andromeda needs to go to Earth and help with the revolution, but there is no time. Dylan decides they have to focus on the present problem or the fleet will be destroyed.

Beka tries to outrun the Dragan ships but is unsuccessful. Dylan decides to take a different course of action. He calls for fleet formation, in which all their allied ships will line up behind the Andromeda, and Beka will pilot for everyone. She leads them through the exploded Slipstream cores, narrowly escaping being torn to shreds. They emerge on the other end victorious. The Dragan ships are nowhere to be found.

The revolution continues to rage on Earth. Harper is crushed that Dylan did not show up as promised. The Resistance fighters do their best to inflict damage on the Neitzscheans, but they are unsuccessful. Feeling guilty, Harper struggles with the decision to stay and die or leave and live. Rommie convinces him that his home is on Andromeda. Back onboard the Andromeda, Dylan shows Harper a transmission from Earth. Brendan is talking into his bracer, telling the people of Earth that they will not give up until they have reclaimed what is rightfully theirs. The transmission is seen all over the universe, and slave worlds in the Dragan Empire join in the revolt.
